Building Green - Innovation and Inspiration
By Carlie Peterson

BUILDING GREEN, presented by the Atlantic Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council in partnership with the Nova Scotia Community College, is a day long (Friday May 16th) conference, trade show and networking event that will explore the design, construction and operation of green buildings.

Speakers include local and national experts in the field of sustainable communities, buildings and materials, featuring John Kokko, a consultant on the Okatoks Alberta sustainable community project; Sheila Brown of Jacques Whitford, renowned LEED faculty member; Joan MacAurthur-Blair, president of NSCC; Stephen King, HRM's "Green Crusader," and more.

The trade show provides a marketing opportunity for suppliers of green building materials, technologies and services.  Delegates will have both lunch and a wine & cheese reception at the trade show.

All profits from Building Green will be used to provide assistance to NSCC students in the building technologies programs.

Detailed information will shortly be posted on the conference web site.  Stay tuned!
