Sponsored by the Boulder, Colo., Office of Environmental Affairs, the Green Points Building Program encourages the use of cost-effective and sustainable remodeling and building methods that conserve fossil fuels, water and other natural resources. Building permit applicants must earn points by selecting green building measures to be used in the project. The program helps homeowners find green products and designs, promotes the recycling of construction materials to reduce solid waste, and promotes better indoor air quality. The Green Points Building Program Web site also includes several downloadable case studies of residential and commercial projects.
