A flexible, point-based program, the City of Aspen/Pitkin County Efficient Building Program (APEB) seeks to educate the public and building trades about using resources more efficiently in construction and demolition projects. The program addresses the reduction of construction waste, promoting recycled and renewable resources, energy efficiency, indoor air quality, renewable energy, water conservation, as well as efficient building techniques. APEB requires all building permit applications to include a completed APEB Checklist. The APEB Web site offers downloadable version of the program's guidelines and checklists.
