A project of the U.S. Department of Energy, the Environmental Energy Technologies Division focuses on developing and commercializing technologies that improve the energy efficiency and indoor air quality of residential and commercial buildings.

Its Web site features building technologies, offers energy analysis, and addresses the indoor environment. An excellent feature of this basic but informative site allows users to discover cost savings from energy-efficiency upgrades specific to particular regions within the U.S. The site also has extensive resources on environmental design and indoor air quality. A bookstore offers research and technical papers.
